Changing default editor within ADE

I'd like to be able to use "vim" as my default editor and viewer in ADE.  For example, when I view a netlist from a corner.  In the past I think I could just set

viewer = "/path/vim"

editor="/path/vim"

in my cdsinit. but this does't seem to work.

  Is there a different way?

    No, this never worked. The netlist viewer in ADE is always using the view() function.

    Regards,

    Andrew.

    Is there an easy way to change both the editor and viewer?  Do we have to replace the view function?

    Well, there isn't a netlist editor anyway. The "editor" variable does alter things that use the edit() function.

    There is no way to replace the built-in viewer unless the applications support it directly. For example, some things (such as the spectre output log) are annotated with hypertext links which wouldn't work if you'd replaced it with an external editor.

    Regards,

    Andrew.
