How can I make spectre accept the 1st subckt definition when there are duplicate subckts.

Thank you

You can't. Spectre can either error out on duplicate subckts, or accept the last. If you want a different duplicate to win, you'd need to reorder the netlist (or reorder the includes) so that the subckt you want is the last-defined.

Thank you. The subckt I want to use is read via the "Simulation Files" form and it is read before the schematic netlist. I assume this cannot be re-ordered right?

If you include it via the Stimulus Files field, then it will appear below the netlisted subckts. Given that the stimulus file is pre-processed to do name mapping, I'd suggest that it's a good idea to create an indirect wrapper to stop the real file you want to include being pre-processed.

So create a file, stimulus.scs with:

    include "fileYouWereOriginallyIncluding.scs"

and then reference stimulus.scs via the stimulus file on the Simulation Files form (I assume you were doing this via Definition Files before?)
