Parasitic extraction tools for Cadence

Hi Andrew,

I am using "IC6.1.8-64b.500.21" for Virtuoso and "4.1_USR6_HF11" for Assura. By using Assura I am able to do DRC and LVS check properly. However, I came to know that the RCX option is no longer available in Assura tool. I went through this issue https://community.cadence.com/cadence_technology_forums/f/custom-ic-design/37094/confusion-about-drc-lvs-parasitic-extraction-tools that had similar problem like mine and set the QRCHOME variable like the following:

export QRCHOME=/opt/cadence/installs/EXT191

export CDS_PATH=/opt/cadence/installs/EXT191/bin

export PATH=/$QRCHOME/tools/extraction/bin:$QRCHOME/tools/bin

But the QRC menu is not being integrated with Cadence menu. Also, I am getting these two warnings in the Log window:

Please let me know if you have any suggestion to fix this issue. Also please let me know if there is any other way to perform RC extraction using Cadence. I know we can do that by using Calibre, but I don't have access to that. I really appreciate your kind help and support.

Looking forward to your kind response.

First of all, this isn't the "ask Andrew" forum, and others in the community do respond from time to time. If you ask specifically to me, then others may not reply and I'm actually not going to focus on such requests above anything else (I respond here in my spare time - it's not part of my role at Cadence to answer here).

The two warnings you're seeing aren't important (I also get them too when using EXT191 with ASSURA41-618). I'm assuming you're running IC618 here?

Anyway, in my environment I don't have any QRC env var set (so normally I had $QRC_HOME set but it's unimportant), and only have $QRCHOME/bin in my path (not the other paths you have). With that, I have the Quantus menu (not QRC) appearing. It's best to just include $QRCHOME/bin and nothing else, but even if I use the paths you used, I still get the Quantus menu.

Perhaps it's because you're looking for QRC - which is the old product name - so do you see Quantus? For me it is one to the right of the Assura menu in the layout editor.

Hi Andrew, thank you for your kind feedback. Please accept my apologies for mentioning you in my primary post.

The Quantus menu was present in my layout window. However, Run Assura option in Quantus was grayed out. I figured out that Quantus was not installed as a separate package. After installing and integrating Quantus 211 package, I was able to access Run Assura.
