QRC Configuration options in PVS

I am using the PVS version 19.10 on Cadence Virtuoso IC.18-64b.500.6

I would like to ask how to ask where to activate the following options

. Floating Gate

. Floating Well

. Extract parasitic diodes as LVS diodes

Those options were available in the PVS version 15.23-64b but I can not see them on PVS 19.10

By the way, I see that Cadence are encouraging to use the PVS tools over the other tools like  Assura...etc, is this because it is a Cadence product or it is really more accurate tools.

Thank you in advance for your help

Best Regards

I'm not sure what these first three options are you're talking about. I looked back at an old PVS version and didn't see them nor did I see anything quite like them when doing some searching. Can you show a screenshot of where these options were before in the UI?

Both PVS and Assura are Cadence products. However, PVS has active development whereas Assura is quite an old tool - so it's really about ensuring you're using modern technology which has active development. Physical verification tools tend to have very long life cycles, but I would say that most foundries are moving away from Assura support to PVS and Pegasus.

    Regards,

    Andrew

    Dear Andrew,

Thank you very much for your answer and your nice explanation regarding the importance of the PVS tools as compared to Assura, that fulfill my inquiry.

With regards to the options in PVS I asked (Floating Gate,  Floating Well,  Extract parasitic diodes as LVS diodes ), I have took you a screen shot showing these options available in PVS 15.23

    Thank you once again

    Best Regards

OK, this is not related to the tool itself or the version, but something in your technology setup. The "Configurator" is a way to add UI options for PVS, and usually this would be referred to from the techRuleSets file - there would be an entry called lvsGuiPreset which would refer to a PVS configurator file which will define the options to show own this form.

Presumably something is different in the setup of the technology data for PVS between the two versions that you're using. As I said, that's not a tool version problem but an environment setup problem.

If you can't get this working, please contact customer support - it's going to be hard to guess what is or isn't working without knowledge of the technology and/or seeing your environment.
