Highlight render delay on Virtuoso IC6.1.8

Hi everyone,

I was looking for a way of delaying the highlight propagation. something similar as the attached video but smoother.
I've been looking for it for a long time and I haven't found something similar, just found properties modifications, but don't work for this.
I'd appreciate if anyone point me to any documentation or any skill that I could take as an start to create this skill.

leHiMark Highlighting particular layers I was using this discussion (which I think is the closest discussion I've found about it), but didn't manage to make it work.

virtuoso version 6.1.8-64b

sub-version IC6.1.8-64b.500.22

It's not clear what you're really after here. If you want Mark Net to gradually highlight the net as it goes along, that can be done with the Highlight Incrementally option on the options form (press F3 after invoking Mark Net):

    Hi Andrew,

Thanks a lot for your response. As I'm seeing using that option is that just Highlight by stepping on metals, like M1...2sec...M2 to top

but I'm lookin for delaying the spread inside one of those steps, instead of highlight all one metal at once.

I had many uses in mind, such as finding shorts or in long term Highlight just the metals that is over a selected width. Or as In the attached video, I would like to identify where is the closest connection to circled net, then slowing the spread would show if the closest connection to where I clicked is on the top or bottom.

But then as start I think I would need to focus on create my own highlight function (script).
