Recent Files

Hi everyone,

I'm trying to get an option of recent files in the library manager, but as an output in the CIW also will be okey (as I'm planning to use that information later).
But I haven't found anything alike in the forums. Does anybody have something similar?

virtuoso version 6.1.8-64b

sub-version IC6.1.8-64b.500.22

regards,

R. Gómez.

What do you mean by "Recent Files"? The CIW and Library manager both already show the 10 most-recent cellViews that were opened - which can be increased above 10 as outlined in this post.

This is the CIW file menu:

and the library manager file menu:

    Regards,

    Andrew

    Hi Andrew,
Thanks, sorry, I was confused because I was opening the file toolbar from Library Manager and I was getting just this.

But the one on the CIW will work. Just one thing, is there any way of retrieving that list as a list? (in order to filter and do some analysis)

The only way I can think of (and have checked this to make it behave this way) is to either:

    • Put this in your .cdsenv file (e.g. ~/.cdsenv): ddserv fileHistoryLimit int 0
    • Put this in the .cdsinit file: envSetVal("ddserv" "fileHistoryLimit" 'int 10)

    Or:

    • Put this in your cdsLibMgr.il file: envSetVal("ddserv" "fileHistoryLimit" 'int 0)

Both these approaches would give no history in the library manager, but would in the CIW.

The SKILL function to retrieve the history is private - it's reading the data from .cadence/dfII/history/userName.history (the format is not documented, so be warned that there's always a chance of it changing in a future release if you choose to read the file).
