Speeding up AMS simulation

Hello, I am performing AMS transient simulations which have multiple configurations (switching between multiple amplifier gain states) to be run and each configuration is taking more than an hour to simulate so are there any possible workaround setting to Increasing simulation speed with some compromise in results ?

Have tried using 4 core option in LSF mode and even with SpectreX.

Any other alternatives to reduce the simulation time will also be great.

thank you

    Hi,

SpectreX is the way to gain performance. I don't know what you tried yet but maybe you can get a bit more out of it:

Article (20501909) Title: Getting the Most Out of Spectre X

To speed your simulation up it would be good to analyze where the simulator is spending most of the time at the moment.

Trouble with convergence?  Having sensible rise/fall times in your switches? Check the simulator log and see at what timepoints the simulator struggles
and then try to "help" the circuit at these points.

    Kind regards,

    Marc

    Thanks for the reply ,

my settings look like the following as of now -

    HPS settings –

I am using Assembler for simulations.

    Virtuoso version –

I will try to pull up the logs as well.

    thanks

Hello in continuation to this thread just wish to confirm that using SpectreX one can take advantage of distributed simulations and that it overcomes previous limitation that a Spectre job can only run on a single host at a time ? (considering AMS simulation in this case)
