Font Size for Trace Info Overlay in ViVA

Hello,

I've been successful in changing font sizes for everything in ViVA through the envSetVal commands in my cdsinit except for the x/y + trace info that pops up when you hover over a trace. I looked through the /dfII/etc/tools/viva/.cdsenv file and none of the font sizes there seem to be responsible (unless I missed one). Anyone have any fixes?

Thanks!

    Dear jdsherman,

    1. I do not have a proposed "fix", but wanted to indicate that the available font sizes may be limited by the font sizes available for your window manager. In other words, if you are specifying a font size for the "x/y + trace info" that your window manager does not support, it will not change the font size. Hence, as you stated, "...and none of the font sizes there seem to be responsible" may only be indicative only that your window manager does not support those sizes and not that one of the envSetVal() settings changes the "x/y +trace info" font.

Have you been able to change the font size of other objects that share that font to the desired font size successfully?

From the Forum post at URL:
    https://community.cadence.com/cadence_technology_forums/f/custom-ic-design/52399/cadence-viva---customizing-tracelegend-font-size

if your window manager is KDE, a view of the available font sizes may be accessed from:

    Settings→Edit Current Profile→Appearance Tab

    2. I also know in the past that the some settings in the installation directory .cdsenv file at:

    <install_dir>/tools/dfII/etc/tools/viva/.cdsenv

may be commented out. From a support ticket I submitted many years ago, I was told those settings that are commented out have not been implemented yet.

Sorry I do not have a firm answer nor a workaround, but I thought I should at least add a couple of my thoughts jdsherman!

I'm not sure there's an option to control this - there probably should be, I agree. I found a change request (CCR) 983906 asking for this - surprisingly I didn't find any duplicates or more recent requests though (which is surprising!).

You should contact customer support and ask for a duplicate to be filed on your behalf.

    Regards,

    Andrew
