Troubleshooting ADE Explorer View Error

sepideh

Hi,
When I want to open ADE Explorer view, there is an error which is ADE Explorer view is not supported. Then, I have no choice, but to open with Maestro view.

Do you have any suggestions on how I can resolve this issue? (Previously, it was possible to use the ADE Explorer view.)
Thank you

It appears to me you are attempting to open Explore using an ADEXL state file (i.e., its spectre_state1" view). Neither ASsembler nor Explorer support the use of ADEXL state files. Hence I am not sure I understand your comment, "Previously, it was possible to use the ADE Explorer view".

Nevertheless, the solution is straightforward as Assembler and Explorer support transitioning between an ADEXL state file and the common "maestro" view they both support. There are some instructions and accompanying figures in the Forum post at URL:

    I hope this helps sepideh!

The error that is being faced here is if you have a schematic open, and then use Launch→ADE Explorer, and ask to "Open Existing View" and then pick a view that is an "adestate" view which is an ADE L state (given the view name being spectre_state1, I'm sure it's an ADE L state not an ADE XL view (there's no such thing as an "ADEXL state file" - sorry Shawn).

The instructions that Shawn gave  to alleviate this aren't really correct either because that suggests opening ADE Assembler and then loading a setup state (this is not a setup state either).

The easiest solution is to either use File→Open from the CIW and navigate to the spectre_state1 view and ask to Open With: ADE Explorer, or in the library manager find the spectre_state1 view and do Right Mouse→Open With and pick ADE Explorer. You'll then be prompted to convert to a maestro view. and then you would be able to open from the schematic (if you wished) using this maestro view in future.

Or you could use Launch→ADE Explorer and create a new maestro view (rather than open existing) and then use Session→Load ADE L State and then reference the spectre_state1 view to import the contents into Explorer. Save this maestro view and you can use that going forward.

None of this is new - if you were using ADE Explorer/Assembler before you would have been opening a maestro view, not an old ADE L state view.

Sorry - I did intend to reference an ADE-L state file and not an "ADEXL state." I realize there is no ADEXL state. Thanks for correcting me.
