Check for extraction and post layout simulation

Hi,

I am a beginner in doing extraction and post layout simulation. I saw many ways on the internet for doing these tasks. I am still confused whether I am doing the correct thing or not. I will be very grateful if anyone can point out if I am doing something wrong. Following are the steps I took for extraction and post layout simulation:

1) I made the layout and open the extraction form ( assura -> Run quantus) with following settings:

2) The extraction ran successfully:

3)Next, I open the test bench (maestro) for running the simulation on the design for which I ran the extraction.

4)I went to Setup -> Environment and added "av_extracted" just before "schematic" in the switch view list option.

5) I ran the simulation as I normally do: Simulation -> Netlist and Run.

Is it sufficient to run the simulation with including the parasitics of the layout?

Also, I don't know if I have to select anything from the following option in the maestro window?:

It will be really helpful if someone can guide me what is correct or incorrect.

Thanks and Regards,

Vishesh

    Vishesh.

That should be sufficient. I'd normally recommend using a config (created with the hierarchy editor) rather than using the switch view list (this gives more control over the view to use for each block), but what you are doing is sufficient. There's no need to use the Parasitics/LDE menu unless you are trying to use parasitic probing features - for pure simulation this is not needed.
