How to perform PVS XOR/FastXOR for multiple layouts from two libraries automatically, from the GUI or terminal

Hi All,

I have two libraries, each having 500 layouts. I want to make sure that the layouts inside one of the libraries match those in the other library.. How do I setup my PVS XOR/FastXOR to do this either from the GUI or Command line using skill or any other scripting language?

Also, I tried exploring different things to run PVS XOR from the command line From the documentation, 'pvs -drc' should work for XOR. and 'fastxor layout1 layout2' should work. I tried both but the commands arent recognized in my machine.

I tried going to the directory where pvs and fastxor executables are installed. It now runs, but it throws an error due to missing libraries like glibcxx.

Another thing I tried is to use "{pvsdir}"/pvsvirt  like what this guy did: https://community.cadence.com/cadence_technology_forums/f/custom-ic-design/40474/error-version-glibcxx_3-4-15-not-found-when-running-pvs-lvs-in-command-line
I just copied it from the logs of fastxor, but somehow it does not work when run from the command line.

Thanks a lot in advance

The simplest would be to use the fastxor executable from the command line (this accepts stream (GDS) files). I have no idea why they wouldn't be recognised, unless you don't directly have the <PVSinstDir>/bin or <PVSinstDir>/tools/bin in your UNIX path but instead have a wrapper around them in your environment - and only have selected PVS commands available. If you fix that, you can run fastxor from the command line, and hence from a script (or from a SKILL script).

Hi Andrew. Thanks for the quick response.

I tried going to the pvs/bin directory and running fastxor using

    ./fastxor gds1 gds2 cellname

It no longer throws an error on missing libraries. For some reason the logs of fastxor from the pvs gui shows a different path for the executables

I just have 1 more question. I have two gds files inverter.gds and inverter_copy.gds. they are exactly the same, i just wanted to to test the functionality of fastxor. What should cellname be? I tried using "inverter" as the cellname but it throws an error

Error 037: cannot open file '.xcells' for writing. Check writing permissions.

what is this xcells file and where is it located? Thanks in advance!

Edit: Another thing is that I can't access your tutorial videos on support.cadence. After I enter the OTP, the page just keeps refreshing.
