ADE Explorer Design Variables sweep sets for Cadence PDK FinFet mosfet multiplier

Using the Cadence Generic (cds_ff_mpt 1.1) PDK I'm not sure how to make a  design variable for the Cadence PDK FinFet mosfet (n1lvt) multiplier; it keeps returning to a numerical value instead of design variable "em".

I have set design variable in ADE Explorer to em with value 1.

This does work for say analogLib component res; it's happy to take a non numerical input and understand it as a design variable.

There is an ancient overview here:

Virtuoso Video Diary: What Are Parametric Sets?

and another user asked a similar interesting question here:

ADE Explorer Design Variables sweep sets

being able to specify values is really useful.

So how can I do a Design Variables sweep for the multiplier or finger value for mosfet (n1lvt) cds_ff_mpt ?

Don't do this via a design variable sweep. Instead, use the Parameters section in ADE Explorer. If you use the click to add parameter, you can then easily select the instance on the schematic, choose the parameter to sweep and then sweep it. You can use matched parameters if you need parameters to track, plus you also have the group as parametric set available for parameters too. I was trying to upload a screenshot but unfortunately it's broken again for me and my usual backdoor has broken too.

Andrew thank you, that works quite nicely including group as parametric set.

I think the system was down for maintenance or at least that's what the webpage said earlier - back to normal now.
