Wildcard '*' does not match any net in spectre save statement

My spectre netlist has this statement:

----

save IARRAY.* sigtype=all depth=1

----

IARRAY is an instance name.

However, when the transient simulation is run, no signals in the subcircuit instance IARRAY are saved. The simulator log has the following message:

----

Wildcard match summary:

               save IARRAY.* :         0

----

What could be the cause of the signals / nets not being saved?

The depth is relative to the top of the design, so you need to specify depth=2 if you want to get any signals within the IARRAY instance.

There was a similar question a while back which I answered here.

    Hi Andrew,

    Thanks for the helpful info.

On the topic of "sigtype", I used the "Outputs"->"Save All" in the Explorer to get the "Save Options" form.  The first column of outputs in "Save Bu Subckt" is titled V [depth]. I selected that column, and set the depth to 2. It created then etlist with the statement (simulation currently running):

    save MEMARRAY.* sigtype=all depth=2

In your detailed answer to the similar question, you suggested to use sigtype=node. Since the "Save Options" form does not have an option for "Nodes", can I change it in my netlist and run the simulation from the command line?

It should be fine to have sigtype=all *but maybe you're getting other things saved too - not sure.

However, you should find if you scroll to the right on the save by subckt form, there's a column for sigtype. I'm running on a newer OS so I'm limited to (about) IC6.1.8 ISR24 as the earliest version I can go back to - this is about 4 years old - and it's certainly available there.

No need to change in the netlist and run from the command line.

Worst case, you could put the save statement into a file (saves.scs for example) and then include this via Setup->Simulation Files - in the Definition files (or as a model library).
