I deleted a layout cell in the library manager, and I find that there is no layout file in the cell file ,just schematic and symbol files.I want to know how to recover the deleted layout. Thanks a lot.

    Hi flywonder

It is quite unfortunate that you have lost your layout. There is actually no way to recover it. Contrary to what some customers believe, Virtuoso does not keep a secret cache of data for data recovery. : )  I get this question sometimes. Your best hope is to check if your file server has a snapshot function which does backups at regular intervals (e.g. hourly, daily, etc).

It might also be possible to recover the file using a commercial tool such as R-Studio for linux.

    Best regards

Of course backups are a good idea too. People also use Design Management tools (e.g. from Dassault (MatrixOne), IC Manage, ClioSoft and MethodICs) to provide version control which allows you to go back to earlier versions (provided you have checked them in).

    Best Regards,

    Andrew.
