*ERROR* (DB-320001): Unable to get the Cadence(R) Design Framework II license feature of "111".

Hi everyone,

I am using Cadence IC615. I have used for 2 months ago. However, today when I was running Cadence, an error occured:

*ERROR* (DB-320001): Unable to get the Cadence(R) Design Framework II license feature of "111".

I closed terminal and try to log in again. But I could not access Cadence any more.

I found one guy got this problem before. www.cadence.com/.../27715.aspx

The different thing is I have used IC615 in 2 months (My server also has IC5141). Please explain what this problem is for me. Thank in advanced.

Presumably your issue is one of:

    1. The license server is no longer running
    2. You've run out of 111 licenses
    3. The licenses have expired
    4. The server isn't reachable
    5. You have $CDS_LIC_FILE or $LM_LICENSE_FILE set to the wrong place

    Possibly others...

If you do "lmstat -f 111 -c $CDS_LIC_FILE" what does it report (in a UNIX shell)?

    Regards,

    Andrew.

    Hi Andrew,

I'm facing the same issue. I've checked all the possible issues you mentioned, seems everything fine.

    I'm using the network license.

license server is up and running.

    $CDS_LIC_FILE giving : 5280@cadence

    $LM_LICENSE_FILE giving : 1717@10.1.8.63

    lmstat -f 111 -c $CDS_LIC_FILE giving

    Hi Rena,

Which version of Virtuoso are you trying to run? What does "virtuoso -W" return at the command line?

    Regards,

    Andrew.

    Hi Rena,

Nothing obvious jumps out in that case - it could be that somebody has restricted the access to the licenses, or it could potentially be that you're running an old version of the license daemons. I would suggest that you would be best to contact customer support to explore this in more detail.

    Regards,

    Andrew.
