Programmatic global net connect access

I was wondering if there is a programmatic way to get access to the globalNetConnect information.  For my power pins, I want to access what global net they are connected to.  I'm currently implementing it as a look-up table using array indices but it is breaking down when my users specify wildcard patterns for the pin name (i.e. globalNetConnect -pin PLL*VDD -net PLL_V10_25_VDD).  It looks like the GUI knows instantly which global net a pin is connected to by looking at the attribute pop-up.

Thanks,

JG

Hmm, I guess I'm going to answer my own question (not sure how I missed this before):

    set termPtr [dbGetPGTermByName $instPtr $pinName]
    set netPtr [dbPGTermNet $termPtr]
    set netName [dbNetName $netPtr]

No problem answering your own question, JG.  Thanks for contributing the information to the forum!

There's also support for pgterms within dbGet (as opposed to the FE-TCL-style in your 2nd post).  It's not 100% straightforward however, so here's an example of what that would look like in case you (or someone else who comes across this post) might like/need to pursue that path at some point:

encounter 30> set instPtr [dbGetInstByName i0]
    0x2a9f706710
    encounter 31> dbGet $instPtr.pgCellTerms.name
    VDD VSS
    encounter 32> dbGet $instPtr.pgTermNets.name
    VDD 0x0

The thing that's not straightforward about it is that there's not a pgTerm object directly off the inst.  The name of the pgTerm is accessed via the pgCellTerm and the name of the net is accessed via the pgTermNet.
