Hi,

In a bottom-up block implementation aproach, how can I convert the power straps into pins at top level?

please let me know if there are any commands for it in encounter?

Regards,

Anil

When you create the block LEF for use at the top-level, make sure you include the options to make the block's power stripes into pins:

lefOut myLef -stripePin -PGpinLayers 1 2

(use whatever layers your power stripes are in)

Thank you kary. Is there any utility in encounter to generate timing information for the top level? ( I mean genetating .libs for the block considering all the modes).

    Regards,

     Hi Anil,

Use do_extract_model. When you started your design, and partitioned the blocks, the partition process may have created some starter .lib files for each block. (But you may have set the partition options to not create them.) These are only good for a quick initial look, so you want to make sure to generate real .lib files for each block after you have closed timing on the block. Check the docs for all the do_extract_model options.
