importing P/G pins into Encounter with .def file

Dear all,
I have been trying to get the pins (VDD and VSS) in the extracted .def file from cadence into Encounter. however, when i do the defIn cmd, it keeps giving me this error:

Pin "VSS" is not created because it's not in the netlist and also not a P/G pin.

>> I know it's not declared in the Verilog netlist since it is power/ground pin. Why does Encounter not recognize it as a P/G pin. even in my .conf file, i have this:

set rda_input(ui_pwrnet) {VDD}
set rda_input(ui_gndnet) {VSS}

so if anyone has experience the same, please let me know. thank you very much.
regards,
chhay

    mohanch007,
    thank you very much. you saved me! I haven't been trying to figure this out for a long time. it works when i specify the special net/pin in the .def file from cadence.

    I have another question regarding power planning tho. so i created a rectilinear contour for the core with the placement blockage using the partition cut. so when i addRing around the contour of the block, it says:

    selected placement blockage (x1, y1, x2, y2) will be considered by addRing command as placement objects.

    another thing is that the Encounter won't let me addRing using the type: core ring(s) contouring. it says the check design boundary or specify valid offsets.
    please help.
    thank you soooo much for your help!
