How to update a tech LEF in an opened design in EDI 11

I am developing LEF tech files.

I need to be able to make a tech LEF change and quickly see the effects in an already opened and routed design in Encounter.

In particular DRCs.

 

loadLefFile only updates antenna info.

 

I need to update everything without restarting the design.

    Unfortunately, no. It's not possible to update a technology LEF on an active design. You don't have to end your session; you can clear the entire design and rerun init_design after changing the init_lef_file global (EDI11) or clear and run loadConfig/commitConfig (EDI10) but you cannot change tech lefs on the fly.

    loadLefFile can load new antenna data. It also is used "under the covers" by certain commands that pass LEF/DEF information to other engines and can be used to some extent as a LEF checker. But it will definitely not overwrite existing tech LEF data.
