New versions of GENNUS and INNOVUS not running on CentOS 9

We recently upgraded from CentOS 7 to CentOS 9. IC618, SPECTRE, GENUS152 work fine.

GENUS 211(Aug. 2023 version) and INNOVUS211(Aug. 2023 version) do not start. The output is given below. It is not clear if it related to checkSysConf or lack of lsb_release because Virtuoso also gives the same warning when invoked, but runs nonetheless.

test_user@ams194~/Digital_Synthesis/synthesis> 143: genus
2023/09/02 20:22:49 WARNING This OS does not appear to be a Cadence supported Linux configuration.
2023/09/02 20:22:49 For more info, please run CheckSysConf in <cdsRoot/tools.lnx86/bin/checkSysConf <productId>
WARNING: not possible to detect OS, missing lsb_release command!

I did search for posts related to lsb_release but they seem to complain about none of the tools running. (example below). Any help would be appreciated.

    Hi Nagendra,

I'm not sure on the package name for CentOS 9, but (as mentioned in the other thread) redhat-lsb-core.x86_64 should install the lsb_release command that the warning mentions. Also, does the lsb_release command work on your shell?

Are there any other errors? (only a warning?)

And, if I remember correctly, the 211 versions are about to hit EOS at the end of the year. Genus 152 is also quite old already.

    Best Regards,

    Marcelo

The command 'lsb_release' doesn't exist on the system. I had tried installing redhat-lsb-core.x86_64. I could only find Centos stream 8 rpm. When I tried to install it, it listed some broken dependencies and when I tried to install them, it listed some more etc. So I decided against it lest they break something else.

    Thanks for your response

    Nagendra

All the tools are working now. I installed redhat-lsb-core and a couple of other missing packages. Not sure if that was the only reason. The OS was also had to be reinstalled for something else.

    GENUS211/ IC618/ INNOVUS211/ SPECTRE211/ XCELIUM2103/

    Thanks

    Nagendra

The new versions of GENNUS and INNOVUS are not compatible with CentOS 9.
