Layout Instance Names on VNL Netlists?

 Hi,

I've been trying to understand what is documented on layout's VNL netlist. It seems that the system has assigned names for the pins on the layout. Is there a way to determine the link between the names in VNL netlist and layout view?

For example, my capacitor(pcell) in the layout  has "I0" as it's name on the layout (shown on the "Edit Instance Properties" box). However, assura refers to  "avD2187_2 " instead of "I0" in both VNL netlist and LVS debugger. With that, I have no choice but to open up the debugger and highlight all the instances in the debugger in order to determine which instance on my layout has LVS mismatches instead of reading the output alone.

I would be grateful if someone can provide some leads into this issue.

You might want to post this on the Custom IC forum since they deal with the Virtuoso netlisters more over there.
