e generation question

Hi,

the next code used to work in IES 13.2 but results in error in 14.2.

var idx : uint[0..7];
var num : byte = 0xA;
gen idx keeping {read_only(num[it:it] == 0);};

I am getting the next error message:

GEN_NO_GENERATABLE_NOTIF

Why ?

How should I rewirte this to do the same functionality, without converting the var num into a list ?

Thanks.

    Hi,

    there are 2 things to consider:
    1) you put the read_only around "num" and "it", so both are read_only, and nothing is generated
          - this is why you get the GEN_NO_GENERATABLE_NOTIF error
          - you can change that to "read_only(num)[it:it]== ...."
    2) to enable generative list indexing, you need to do the following before loading this code:
         set_config(gen,use_generative_slice_indices,TRUE)

    Once you've made both changes it will work as desired in 14.2
