UPF to CPF conversion

vicky
vicky over 16 years ago

Is there any utility which would do a conversion of an UPF file to CPF file. I have a testcase which has been implemented using UPF and now I am planning to implement the same using CPF. I did a manual conversion of the commands to create the power domains  but I feel that the way the switch cells and isloation cells are defined in the CPF and UPF is very difficult to convert from it.

    Hi Vicky,

We have a conversion utility that currently requires a beta software license agreement to use.  Let's take this offline and I can help with getting the license and using the utility.  Feel free to email me at jrodrig@cadence.com.

    Best regards,

    Mickey

    Hi Ramya,

The ability to convert upf to cpf and vice versa is included as part of the Conformal Low Power license and tool. If you have a conformal low power tool you would invoke clp as follows: unix> lec -lp -verify

Then you can either use the interactive mode to convert: setup> upf2cpf <upf_filename>

or you can use the gui: setup> set upf on

                                              setup> start pia

then within PIA use the File -> Import from UPF option to choose the UPF to be converted.

Please feel free to email me offline, jrodrig@cadence.com if you have any questions.

    Best regards,

    Mickey

    Greeting. Mickey

Recently released CLP version has only beta version of document written about PIA.

tool is not supporting "start pia" anymore.

If toy are still using CLP, please let me know what to do for open cpf generation gui.

     with regards.

Hi. PIA is now integrated directly into the CLP user interface. When in the CLP gui (lec -lp –verify –gui) in the upper left pane, expand the Design Setup section and click on Power Spec. This is where you can enter the appropriate power intent content. Best regards, Mickey

I am not sure if this utility is present. I would like to have one that can convert from the CPF format to UPF to be used with dynamic power simulations Regards
