Cannot start ncsim when launching ams simulation

Hi all,

I got a problem on mixed signal simulation using MMSIM 15.2 and INCISIV 15

When I have configured the MMSIM and INCISIV package, I start to run a tutorial called "vfs_amsflow"

I could successfully finish the ncvlog and ncelab phase, but error is exist when entering ncsim

Analog Kernel using -ANALOGCONTROL
/tmp//simulation/aeq_ac_sim/ams/config_ams/netlist/amsControlSpectre.scs.
Reading file:
/tmp//simulation/aeq_ac_sim/ams/config_ams/netlist/amsControlSpectre.scs

Error found by spectre during circuit read-in.
ERROR (VACOMP-2353):

has been modified. To solve the issue, either use the GCC version that
came packaged with the release, or reinstall the release.

Does anyone know how to solve it?

    Hi James,

I can't find any reports of the same problem (at least nothing recent). I'm not sure it's related to the GCC version mismatch (that may be a diversion) - may be related to a permission problem in the TMP dir (check the cds.lib - does it have any ASSIGN TMP type definitions and if so are any of these pointing to dirs/files that aren't writable)?

The best next steps would be to:

    1. Update to the latest Hotfix of INCISIVE152 in case it's been fixed
    2. Contact customer support as it suggested in the messages above.

    Regards,

    Andrew.

    Hi Andrew,

Thank you for your reply. I guess it is the GCC version that is incompatible to INCISIVE15.2, But I have used the checkSysConf command to check the system configuration, GCC could pass. I am using Centos 7.4, but I do not think Linux distribution is critical.

However, I do not know which GCC version should be used and how to install it.

    Regards,

    James

    James,

I'm not sure this is necessarily anything to do with the GCC warning - that may be a coincidental warning.

CentOS is not a supported platform for Cadence software, although RHEL7 is for INCISIVE152 so that ought to be OK in practice (no guarantees).

We'll need to investigate further - hence the suggestion to try the latest hotfix and if not go to customer support.

    Andrew.

I have contacted the Customer Support today. As I am a graduate student, but my university does not sign contact with Cadence directly. The Cadence is provided by another institution. So they would not give any support.

You will need to get the organisation that provides you the software to raise a support request on your behalf. If in Europe that would often be Europractice - but elsewhere in the world normally there is a nominated contact person who can log support requests.

    Andrew.

    Hi Andrew,

After contacting the institution that provided Cadence package to us, they said that the INCISIVE version is needed to be upgraded to perform the mixed mode simulation. After the INCISIVE upgraded to 15.20.039, the mixed mode simulation could run now

    Thank you for any advice

    Regards,

    James
