Virtuoso visualization and analysis wiondow does not update in tran analysis

Dear all,

I am running tran simulations in ADE Assembler on ICADVM20.1 and normally when plotting the waveforms even before the end of the simulation I should be able to see them up to the time point where the tran sim has been calculated, however I see that it is not exactly the case in a testbench and I cannot figure out why.

What happens is that it will show updated waveforms only at some time points. For example, the simulation lasts 300ns and I observe that there are some time instants, say t1=6ns, t2=117ns, t3=276 ns, such that if tran analysis has not reached t2 yet, then the waveforms will be plotted only until t1.

However if tran analysis has reached the time point  t suche that t2<t<t3 then waveforms will be plotted until t2.

Same applies for  when tran analysis reached point t>t3, then the waveforms will be plotted unitl t3.

There might be other "plottable" time points which I did not observe.

Simply tran analysis, errpreset liberal.

What can this be due to and how to fix it? I would need to see in any time the most updated waveforms for the simulation being run.

PS: if the simulation is stopped, then the waveforms for the whole calculated time span.

Thank you and best regards

If I understand your question correctly and your database format is psfxl, I believe you may want to reduce the time interval between write flushes to the psfxl data base. This can be controlled by the environmental variables CDS_PSFXL_FLUSH_INTERVAL, CDS_PSFXL_INIT_FLUSH_INTERVAL, and CDS_PSFXL_MAX_FLUSH_INTERVAL. The following two articles may help you set appropriate values. The second URL is specific for the version of the tools you are using (ICADVM20.1).
