Constraints follow a hierarchical structure (Design > Net Class > Bus > Net > Pin Pair), where rules defined at lower levels take precedence over those at higher levels. For instance, a rule applied at…

I updated my schematic in OrCaD capture 17.4 and ran Design sync to update my layout .. however new components and net modifications are not appearing in allegro 17.4 board file .. session log shows no critical failure  but database is not updating .

How do I resolve this synchronisation block ? Should o force a third party netlist creation, or is there a specific lock file in 17.4 I need to clear ?

Check for lock files (.lck) and ensure the design is not open in another session; also re-associate the board file in Capture if needed.

Review the netrev.lst file for hidden warnings/errors, and verify that the “Update PCB Editor board (Netrev)” option is enabled.

If the issue persists, generate the netlist manually and perform a File > Import > Logic in Allegro to force the update.

The Allegro X PCB Editor 24.1 release introduces enhancements focused on layout efficiency, 3D visualization, and constraint management.
New features include the Daisy Chain Generator and an enhanced thermal analysis workflow with heat maps and simulation tables.
Layout improvements cover shape updates, void handling, better 3DX Canvas navigation, and improved reference designator display.
Constraint management is strengthened with impedance-based rules, via stub reduction, fiber weave awareness, and improved differential pair routing.
Additionally, Hotfix 006 brings performance optimizations, advanced packaging options, serpentine checks, and improved multi-discipline collaboration.
