Spark and ignition coil driver simulation

Kamyk
Kamyk 7 months ago

Hello. Is it possible to simulate spark jump over two electrodes in PSpice ? I would like to compare a few designs of coil drivers and ignition coils. But I am not sure how to set the "air gap" and ignition coil in Pspice.

Best regards.

    You can try the following:
For modelling sparks, you can try using exponential burst source, refer link below:
    https://www.ema-eda.com/how-to-page/how-to-simulate-repeated-exponential-electrical-fast-transients-efts/

For modeling ignition coil, you try modeling magnetic coil - links that can help mentioned below:

PSpice is shipped with numerous coil models too - refer below - navigate to Categories > Magnetics
