ERROR (VACOMP-1008): Cannot compile ahdlcmi module library when I practice the AMSKIT615 package.

I got this error when I was practicing Cadence AMS Methodology kit (05B_AnalogBlockDesignOptimization) using IC6.1.5. My OS is Unix 32-bit.

"ERROR (ADEXL-5011): While simulating run LocalOpt.1, point 48, test freq_low, received error:

This is just a section of error message. Other message are all similar like this section.

Also this message in CIW happened when I tried to run any simulation or optimaizaiton followed by AMSKit 05B tutorial.

If someone could help me, I would appreiciate that.

Thanks.

Which version of spectre are you using (spectre -W at the UNIX command line will tell you this)? I don't see the issue when compiling that VerilogA module in MMSIM11.1 or MMSIM12.1. Presumably if you're running on a 32-bit OS, you must be using an older MMSIM version (or maybe that's your problem?)

    Regards,

    Andrew.

    Hi Andrew,

The current sub-version is 11.1.0.366.isr7. Actually what I am using is a 32-bit OS. So  I have to install an older Multi-Mode Simulation ECAD suite to figure this out?

    Thanks,

    Alex

    Alex,

Are you sure you're running on a 32-bit OS? What do you get if you run "uname -a" or "spectre -64 -debug3264 -W"

For all releases that require RHEL5, we only support 64 bit OS - so you really should install a 64 bit OS (unless of course you are using 32 bit hardware, which must mean that the machine is really old).

If you try to run MMSIM11.1 on a 32 bit OS, it will not be able to compile any VerilogA models at all, because the installation does not include the 32-bit version of gcc, needed for the compilation.

    Regards,

    Andrew.

I think I am using the 32-bit OS on the server side of my department. But we have 64-bit OS server side as well. So I can tell you sugget me try the same simulation on 64-bit OS. I should have no problem, right?

    Hi Alex,

Probably - I can't test it myself as I don't have any 32 bit machines (at least not running RHEL5 which is the minimum requirement for MMSIM11.1). In fact 64-bit RHEL5 is the minimum requirement, so I'm surprised it runs at all.

    Regards,

    Andrew.
