infotimes?

 hi,

does anybody use "infotimes" to extract certain time point infomation in transient simulation, for example, i want to know the Cgs in the time "10u 20u 30u" , but whatever i have done,it did not pop-up a form but a results display window, have you met this problem? by the way, i use cadence ic5141 and spectre simulator. refer to this example

regards,

zfeng

    Hi Zfeng,

I am not sure which form are you talking about but when you -

    1. Specify the times in infotimes tab in Transient Analysis Options in ADE and

    2. Run the simulation

    3. Then you do "ADE>Result>Print>Transient Operating Points" and the Results Display Window pops up,

    4. You now need to select the instance on the schematic to get the required operating info for that device.

Now as far as the post you are referring is concerned it also asks you to do ac analyses at the specific timepoints using acnames and actimes. You then need to use the formula mentioned over there to determine Cgs at those timepoints.

    With Regards,

    Ashish

     hi,

yes, you got my question exactly, and i have tried as you mendtioned above, yes,  i got some "results" indeed. but i still can't get some information such as shown on anasimhelp p505(cadence manual), so could you please check it in your design environment? and by the way, may i ask you a question about "betaeff" in mosfet parameters, what does it mean?

    thanks,

    zfeng

    Hi Zfeng,

I think you are referring to "Annotating Transient Operating Points". Yes in that case a form opens which asks you to specify the time for which you want to annotate the Tran Op Point on to schematic. This is different to printing operating points which the post you were referring to has mentioned. In this case of annotating the tran op point you do ADE->Results->Annotate->Transient Operating Points.

Regarding the betaeff parameter, if you refer to the Spectre Device Models manual it is defined as -

    betaeff = ueff * coxe * weff / leff

However, if you have further questions on this then I would prefer to open a separate post/thread for that.

    With Regards,

    Ashish

     Hi Ashish,

i have done like you talked above, and yes, i got a capacitance table in different time point, but this appears in the output log file not a "form". it will be very  appreciated if you could talk something about how to monitor/observe the mosfet operation region changing? now, i just know check it by looking through the final information, we can only know the last operation state of mosfet by the results browser. any advice and post will be grately welcome.

    regards,

    zfeng
