A Journey Through 2025: PCB and Package Design Learning in Motion

11 Feb 2026 • 6 minute read

Happy New Year!

As we enter into a new year, we want to take a moment to reflect on an exciting journey throughout 2025—a year characterized by innovation, growth, and ongoing learning in PCB and Package Design.

Over the past twelve months, we have published 17 in-depth blogs covering System, PCB, and Package Design, delivering practical Training Bytes and timely insights for our learning community. A key milestone was the webinar From Legacy to Cutting-Edge: Migrating from Allegro X DE-HDL to Allegro X System Capture, which guided designers through the migration process from Allegro X DE-HDL to Allegro X System Capture. If you missed the live session, on-demand recordings are available, and upcoming webinars will continue to foster the conversation.

What Resonated Most

Our most-viewed blogs covered a wide range of topics, including OrCAD X Capture themes, PCB fundamentals, advanced system analysis, and LPDDR5X optimization. These posts served as an essential channel for sharing training updates, promoting webinars, and highlighting upcoming Blended and Live Training sessions. This helped our audience stay informed, inspired, and prepared to enhance their skills.

Thank you to all our colleagues who consistently publish blogs with the latest and most engaging Training Bytes and learning resources. Some of the most popular blog posts published this year are as follows:

  • Exploring Themes in OrCAD X Capture
  • Ascent: Training Insights: Introduction to the Exciting World of PCB: Allegro X System Capture and Training Essentials
  • System Analysis Knowledge Bytes - Optimizing LPDDR5X System Performance with Cadence Topology Workbench
  • BoardSurfers: Training Insights: Become a PCB Design Expert with Our Free Fundamentals Course – Enroll Now!
  • BoardSurfers: Training Insights: What’s New in the Advanced Design Verification with the RAVEL Programming Language Course

Expanded Learning Opportunities

In 2025, several new training courses were launched. Let’s take a closer look at them.

  • Allegro X System Capture Design Reuse

This course provides an introduction to the concept of design reuse in Allegro X System Capture. This training covers creating logical sub-design blocks in Allegro X System Capture, adding constraints, and creating corresponding physical layouts of those sub-design blocks, which can be reused in other top-level designs.

  • DC and Thermal Analysis with Celsius PowerDC

Discover how to perform electrical DC, thermal, and combined electrical-thermal simulations. In this 3D computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulation course, you learn learn how a heatsink, chassis, and fan work together to cool a system effectively. Find out more about this course in our blog.

  • PDN and Voltage Ripple Analysis with Sigrity X OptimizePI and SystemPI

Learn how to create an impedance plot, simulate voltage ripple, and enhance both the plot and ripple by incorporating decoupling capacitors. Using Sigrity X OptimizePI, you can optimize your design to identify the most effective decoupling capacitor scheme that aligns with your design objectives. Once completed, use Sigrity X SystemPI technology for verification and signoff. For more details, read the blog or watch the following Training Byte for in-depth information:

  •  Printed Circuit Board (PCB) Design Fundamentals Academic Curriculum

To benefit Academic learners, the curriculum provides a comprehensive and industry-aligned journey from schematic creation to manufacturable layouts using Allegro X applications. These courses also offer Digital Badges.
